LONG HAIR
Riding the Wave
[TeenPeople, September 2004] BEST FOR long straight or wavy hair with a lot of natural body.
ASK YOUR STYLIST FOR a modern version of the shag, with deep layers to create sexy volume. "In front, it's best to start the first layer just below the widest point of your face," says Mark Slicker of L.A.'s Sally Hershberg at John Frieda salon.
HOW TO STYLE IT: Spritz a thickening lotion through damp hair for texture. Blow-dry using a round brush to create height at the roots and give the ends a slight blend. Next, wrap random around a three-quarter-inch-barrel curling iron, leaving the clamp open to avoid creases. Finish the look with a nonsticky hair spary.
You can try: John Frieda Sheer Blonde Full-Blow Blonde Volumizing Spary, and ThermaSilk Flexible Hold Hairspary.

MEDIUM LENGHT HAIR
Flipping Out
[TeenPeople, September 2004] BEST FOR relaxed or straight to wavy hair.
ASK YOUR STYLIST FOR long, sweeping bangs and choppy layers. The longest layer should graze your shoulder. The bangs should hit just bellow your eyes, so you can style them to the side.
HOW TO STYLE IT: Work a smoothing cream through damp hair. While blowdrying, flip the layers out with a medium-sized round brush (start at the bottom and work up). "Blow the pesky hair on the sides back at an angle so they don't flip out too much," says Bumble and Bumble stylist Danielle Caputo. To add volume at the crown, use a round brush to curl the shortest layers at the top under. Dry bangs straight, then sweep them to the side.
You can try: Philip B Creme of the Crop Hair Finishing Creme.
